Iranian Minister of Energy underlines importance of Algeria’s role in GECF

 

TEHRAN (Iran)- Iranian Minister of Energy Hamid Tchit-Tchian underlined Sunday, in Teheran, the importance of Algeria’s role in the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), taking into account “its international experience” gained at the global gas market.

“Iran strongly counts on Algeria’s participation to this Summit and its contribution to the strengthening of cooperation and dialogue to defend the producing countries’ interests,” Tchit-Tchian told the press on the eve of the 3rd GECF Summit scheduled on Monday in Tehran.

“Algeria’s participation to Tehran Summit is important, taking into account this country’s role in this forum and its international experience in the gas industry,” he said.

The Iranian Minister underlined the necessity to reinforce cooperation between the countries members of the GECF to better defend their interest “addressing common challenges.”

President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, will be represented at this Summit by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal.
