In 2020, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued the percentage of support of Muslim American voters in the United States for both Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, and the poll showed that Biden obtained 69% of the Muslim votes, while Trump obtained only 17%. A poll conducted by the Emgage Group at the time showed that 71% of Muslim voters participated in the 2020 elections, numbering about 1.1 million voters, and their votes contributed remarkably to deciding Biden’s victory against Trump.
According to statistics, the percentage of American Muslims is 1.3% of the population, and their number does not exceed 4.5 million people. Although the American Muslim community is relatively small in number, its participation was influential enough to make a difference in the 2020 elections. In the state of Georgia, Biden won by a narrow margin over Trump, with about 12,000 votes, in the presence of more than 61,000 Muslim voters, which is enough to tip the balance in his favor.

But the overwhelming popular anger in the region and around the world within America itself has begun to sound the alarm for the old American president, who is awaiting very fierce elections a year from now in which he wants to win a second presidential term.
The demonstrations and activities critical of Israel and Biden’s policy in the United States were not limited to Arabs and Muslims, but rather included a significant percentage of leftist and progressive groups supported by an important part of the electoral base that supported Biden against Trump in the elections.
But the anger of these groups against Biden has now become clear, as they began demonstrating with Arabs and Muslims, demanding a ceasefire first, and even radical changes in Washington’s policy in support of Israel. The memo indicated that Biden’s support for Israel made him “complicit in the genocide” in Gaza, revealing the depth of divisions within the US administration. It considered that the Israeli measures – which included cutting off electricity, limiting humanitarian supplies, and carrying out attacks that led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians – constitute “war crimes and crimes against humanity under international law.”
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has previously admitted that there are differences within the State Department regarding the Biden administration’s approach to its continued support for Israel in its war on Gaza, which has sparked increasing anger and opposition.
